About MNCYO
Orchestral music, rooted in community
The Mid North Coast Youth Orchestra is a not-for-profit ensemble founded in 2014. We unite young musicians from Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour and everywhere between — strings at the heart, winds and brass completing the sound.
Whether you are a parent looking for an enriching activity, a teacher referring a student, or a player ready for your first orchestra experience — you belong here. New musicians are always welcome.

Coastal Strings

Coastal Strings is MNCYO’s dedicated pathway for bowed instruments — built for players who want stronger section skills, richer tone, and the thrill of performing as one.
Rehearse alongside the full orchestra program with coaching tailored to developing technique and ensemble listening. It is the perfect on-ramp for string students stepping up from lessons.
